The forum search at Joomla is oddly fast considering how large the database must be.

Re: The Extensions forum *IS NOT* working .... TOO MANY POSTS !
I am going to read more about the emerging plans for organizing information at http://extensions.joomla.org/
It's possible that some of my concerns about information not being easily findable are going to be addressed.
I always wonder if a wiki-like with forum-like commenting would be the way to go.

I am sure any question I have has been asked and answered many times.
Why is it so time consuming to find the information?
Because the forums are not designed around the Issues users have. They are based on relatively unhelpful hierarchies.

Re: The Extensions forum *IS NOT* working .... TOO MANY POSTS !
One thing that would be really helpful is perhaps instead of trying to redo the forums to suit extensions by adding 19+ forums that need moderators and also opens up the potential for abuse, I was assuming that the subforums would be moderated by the current forum moderators - at least initially, o...

OpenWiki was great.
I'd love a non-iframe version of Nuwiki that works !
I really feel that Joomla! would benefit from a DEAD SIMPLE native wiki.
Welcome back Predator.

Re: The Extensions forum *IS NOT* working .... TOO MANY POSTS !
A lot of people do give head to head comparison reviews of extensions in the same category there. Not really. A few random head to head comparisons. Here is the link to the blog category. You can see how they are rated and how many reviews they have in a glance. That m...

Re: The Extensions forum *IS NOT* working .... TOO MANY POSTS !
I think the challenge is to figure out how to design things from the TYPICAL end user's perspective. The idea here is the user has installed Joomla and wants to figure out if Joomla has a Blog Component. How can joomla.org provide the user with the information he/she needs for making a great decisio...

The Extensions forum *IS NOT* working .... TOO MANY POSTS ! m A major deficiency here at joomla.org is the inability to find reviews comparing extensions. Users need both reviews on what extensions are available and what are there features that each of the components has or lacks. Forins...

Link from HomePage to Joomla! download poorly done.
The Download J! 1.0.12 link points to a mess of files.
UGLY.
At a minimum, I'll bet that alot of people download the first file when they really want .12-Stable-Full_Package.zip.

should the slogan be to attract new Users or retain old users ?
I guess to start retain old users.
The word Together would be important then.

If you had the "feathers" changing colour in a cool gif/flash that would rock.
