Hi folks, Like Sunbeam, I use VirtueMart with lots of tweaks to allow for event registrations on w - but it's not really designed for event registrations, especially those where extra tickets are purchased for guests. I tweaked lots of the language files so that it doesn't sound like somebody is pur...

CBD is always a good option - plenty of places of all types available.  Fed Square is handy to public transport and has about a bunch of eating places... and is also close to a whole bunch of other places.

I guess it depends on the numbers and what you were after.  I was in the city on Anzac Day this year and heaps of cafes were open.  There is also likely to be events and activities taking place to celebrate the day.

As a complete newbie - I'd feel way intimidated to meet all you experts - but would love to come.  Perhaps Australia Day (26th) would be a good option so people don't have to get out of work?
