I believe CB allows "connections" like a buddy system and you can install mamblog to give them their own blog area linked through their profile. I think there is a photo album with a CB plugin as well, so they can have their own photo gallery in their profile, too.

i think community builder is the closest i've seen to allowing that, though i don't know how many users it can handle...you could try asking at http://www.joomlapolis.com. it's got plugin capabilities so you could extend it yourself if you know how.

In my non-profit work, I've found that perhaps the two biggest "wants" that is not available on Joomla right now are these: (1) More in depth user levels/groups and ability to target specific users or groups (not hierarchical) to specific categories/sections/components/modules, etc. (2) Support for ...

is there a type of swahili writing that can be taken (a "J" perhaps, or the whole word?), made a little funky, and act as a logo?
