Re: Some suggestions to improve extensions website.
Kudos for the work done so far. It is very nice to be able to see the breadth and depth of extensions. My one major gripe is the difficulty of evaluating said extensions. Where is the extension download? Is the extension really current? Is it a dedicated J-extension or is it an M-extension that just...

Mark question/thread as complete?
Someone implied on an old thread I was reading that I can mark my support questions as answered.
Is this true and where can I find out about how to do that? Looking through my posting and config options didn't turn up anything.
TIA,

Additional Extensions
A couple "donations" modules to add to the extensions directory: SocietyWare :: Paypal Donation Module 1.12 m EZ Donate module m ======================= I'd add these myself, but I'm not the developer and it seems only devs and admins should add extensions to the dir. Is there another protocol for n...

Re: Feature Suggestions/Tweaks
3. I think you have this already. The category is shown on top, and the left side menu show the precise location in the directory. As I noted in my OP, I know I can eventually find this by going to each extension's "page" in the directory. But it would be MUCH more useful if it was displayed on the...

Feature Suggestions/Tweaks
Thanks for all you are doing!! Some minor tweaks that I think would be useful: 1 - "All Categories" display I think it would be better if "all" sub-categories were displayed on this "page". Seems the sub-category list is cut-off after 9 items? The cut-off doesn't really save real estate or time. 2 -...

Login Failure
1 - Registered. 2 - Got confirming e-mail. 3 - Confirmation link results in: "Invalid Activation Link! There is no such account in our database or the account has already been activated." 4 - Login result (6 times from 2 different computers): &nb...

Re: Why are commercial components allowed?
I will continue to suggest that, in my opinion, there are many more pressing issues to concern ourselves with and discuss involving the Joomla project than open source vs. closed source listings on the Extensions Directory. The directory attempts to be an unbiased resource that presents all availab...

Re: Why are commercial components allowed?
So has the discussion morphed a little, from "Why are commercial components allowed?" to "Why are encrypted components allowed?"

Re: Why are commercial components allowed?
I'm hard-pressed to understand how limiting information and choices can be considered a "good" for the J community. I'm a penny-pincher from way back when, but I still want to see ALL my choices so I can make an informed decision. =================== That being said, I would much rather see resource...
