Re: Joomla site hacked?
So Brad, it wasn't anything to do with this message presently appearing above this page, and any other Forum page? Re: looks like joomla org hacked
Thank you Team for clearing up the site, the problems and above all the worry. It is a relief to find that this exploit wasn't due to Joomla itself. Too many outside were looking at us and getting ready to laugh at being caught out like that. Thank that the main site is safe again. Thanks also to th...

Re: looks like joomla org hacked
In both your posts you have used that persons ID. Please edit your posts to delete any reference to that person. We must not give any sort of credit to somebody who does things like that. No Screenshots, No names, no links, nothing that might be identifying the ID. Thank you for your cooperation.

Re: look like joomal.org hacked
When discussing if they are hackers or crackers or black hats or just script kiddies I'm quite partial to Anne McCaffrey's term of "scumvermin" but perhaps others don't like my choice of words On a sadder note I see that the exploits in the media directory or help and dev sites are still there, and ...

Re: look like joomal.org hacked
But the the PTB said that the site was rebuilt from backups, didn't they do that?
Maybe you need to repost in Security as a heads up to others who are not following this thread over here?

Re: look like joomal.org hacked
Chris, please note my third line starting with "Except..." Our mailboxes would by now be bursting at the sides with conjecture and speculation and not one post in the batch has anything serious to say about what actually happened and how to fix it. So for now it is sitting in a good spot ( apologies...

Re: look like joomal.org hacked
I have no idea why this would be even considered as appropriate for Sites and Infrastructure. It has nothing to do with that and everything to do with Security and should be moved back into Security where it belongs. Except that so much of this thread likewise has nothing to directly do with S...

Re: look like joomal.org hacked
Nice, eh? It's a totally amateurish way to handle all this. "Hey, let's just censor our users posts!" Not censor, sanitise. The standard in here has always been - and I have been here from the start - that there is never a link, a name, a screenshot or any other thing that might identify a ha...

Re: joomla.org hacked?
It would be far too soon to jump to such a wild conjecture at this time.
I have every faith in the Team telling us the full story once they have cleared everything up and found out for themselves just what happened. Be patient, many of us are waiting for some news.

Re: joomla.org hacked?
When the site was first closed it was showing the Joomla logo as expected (I have a screenshot of it). It was just a little later that the hacked image appeared, about 5-10 minutes after the first one showed up (I have a screenshot). I would hazard a guess that even though the site was closed ...

Re: jommla.org main page HACKED
Being discussed here... http://forum.joomla.org/index.php?topic=203014.new;topicseen#new And I am not sure the PDF is necessary, the staff are aware of the attack. The staff have closed the site though it has again been hacked since their closure hence the change of the hack graphic for the original...

But now it shows a hacked graphic instead of the Joomla logo.

Re: Joomla! as intranet for Community Centre
And now I have a need to help a local Youth Centre with IT support to provide training and tutorials for young offenders. My thoughts are to run Joomla on their Intranet perhaps using CivicCRM to manage the list of young people. Perhaps using the new education modules to handle the 'students' and tr...

Joomla! as intranet for Community Centre
I'm on the Management Committee of a small community centre. They are presently running a small network of 10 PCs in the Learning centre as well as 4 other PCs for Administration. I was thinking that a CRM would be very useful for management of memberships and tracking enquiries and class lists plus...

Re: Discuss : Joomla! 1.5 Beta Release Date Announced
Le't see, was I naughty or nice this year... Santa is not here yet. So you know the answer to your question . Well, like most of us, he's a patient fellow, probably sitting near the fire at his big complex under the North Pole, regularly calling out to the IT Elves to keep checking if that Jo...

Re: Demo Site: Where's the Joomla! News Items?
I think we are getting beyond a demo site just being a default vanilla install but instead should have some real content and creative design to show the power, flexibility and range of joomla Yes Brian, I am right with you on that. We have a captive audience, lets give them a good show An example o...

Re: Demo Site: Where's the Joomla! News Items?
Ok, good point, in the dummy pages there are a couple of News items already using Lorem Ipsun. I believe we need real-looking news items, items that say to the new site builder, this Joomla! can help you produce items as good as these. I also believe that we need to be as proactive as we can be to u...

Demo Site: Where's the Joomla! News Items?
Ok, not sure where to post this so Moderator, feel free to place this where it will do the most good. Now, how many times when opening up a new Joomla! site have we seen the news item about the new way of spelling, or that corny item about the RAM going out on strike? How many times do we need to s...
