No Search in J 1.5.x

One of the issues with CMS's like Joomla is stopping the site search from finding thank you, registration or stand alone pages in the "uncategorised" or other sections. The file to alter is /plugins/search/content.php Two options are available depending on how you wish to manage your site ...

Re: full page article url, logo etc in print friendly page

This tip does not work as the urls created are disfunctional The code supplied generates urls in the popup that are screwed Here's an example http://www.domain.com/index.php?ndex2.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=51 Notice the addition of ... ndex2.php? Suggest this post is altered/edited...

It is .... the reminder of your message.

What was weird was that not all reminders were a problem.

Subscribed emails with dud links

I'm getting these emails as I'm subscribed to this section of the site. Problem being is that the first link in this email generates errors. Only just begun. Hello yerg, You are receiving this notification because you are watching the topic, "What happened to the forum today???" at "J...

Problem Solved / Solution Found

The new forum doesn't allow you to go back and edit the first post to say "problem solved" Didn't notice this until now when someone PM'd me asking how to do it. Rather critical given the learning curve going on and the fact that ppl will soon forget if they can't. Good luck in implementin...

Forum Search Issues

A heads up ... but not sure how solvable this is. EG: I search for an issue and get 2 pages of results -- until I open each one I don't know if the result is for 1.5 or 1.0.x What happens is you get an outcome like Topic = code support? Category = in General Questions What comes first is the most re...

Re: Go Down at the bottom of the page

I'm not sure of the point of the "GoDown" button at the bottom cos it doesn't actually take you "down" to the next page anyway. Here's another example m Click on the go down and you get taken to m This is the exact same link that the go down button at the top of the page says There are the numbers l...

Go Down at the bottom of the page

This page has a "go down" not a "go up" link at the bottom.

There are a number of others as well.

Not sure whether it's random or some specific pages as I've not seen it regularly.

Bit vaigue ... but hope it helps  ;)

Lorenzo ... I'm with you there. My test bed is full of stuff that sounded just what I wanted but without a demo or any real description. Why not have a pdf download with a Full Description, some screenshots of the front end and back end would be enough May be the Joomla forge could up the anti a bit...

Re: Is there a problem with the forum topic structure

No Brad it doesn't I only ever get one page with mine. I'm not gazing in the mirror just observing the forum and how it works for a project and whilst happy with it in general it appears to have some inconsistencies. Just did a search again and only got one page with 29. Maybe BigPond is throttling ...

Re: Is there a problem with the forum topic structure

May be the heading style has something to do with it .. just a suggestion The General forum is the first on the list and is obviously the first choice. Re: Is there a problem with the forum topic structure

  I fell for the trap as well.

Not sure what it is but I'm finding it difficult to find stuff.

I can do the same search twice and get a totally different group of answers.

I can search for my posts and some never appear.

Is there a problem with the forum topic structure

There are 10 pages of MOVED: posts.

Seems way too many.

Is this because the titles of the forums are ambiguous, the descriptions aren't clear enough?

Very difficult to work through when per page there are sometimes 75%+ MOVED:

Any ideas??

Re: Discussion about: Logo Competition - Community Vote begins

A logo archive would be a great story in the news section.

Demonstrates the breadth of tallent and level of contribution that lives on here.

Adds to the outsiders perceptions that this is not a corporate show but a real community.

:( What I found frustrating was that I loved some of the graphics but the text didn't appeal.

This then compromised what I would have voted for.

Re: Mambo Open Source Development Team - Letter to the community - Discussion

More power to the community I say.  From a number of view points we need to disassociate the new name and graphics etc from Mambo/Miro. Whilst we have all come from that point in time and whilst the Miro attitude is what it is let's do what the Core Team have done ... cut and run .. regroup ......
