Re: My resignation letter from JED
@n0fear2 close our site because there are no alternatives to the software we use but developers stopped developing and we can not even get a new serial number I'm sorry to hear that. Yes this issue is very heated and we too are affected by that. There are threads going right now that tell both sides...

Re: Is this policy compliant?
Perhaps if he offered a free version and required (encouraged) his clients to install and try the free version to offer a more informed review? As far as I can tell this does not violate any rules on the JED. The JED does evolve as the community around it changes. They always seem to do the best the...

I'm not familiar with that extension. Could you offer a small blurb about the component? Maybe it would ring some bells for people.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Extensions being duplicated..quick question.
Is there any precedence in extensions being dupped? I know this is a little sticky regarding gnu/gpl. We just found an extension that is published in the JED that is one of our extensions listed by someone else Now I understand that a cube must have 6 sides and there are really only certain ways to ...

Re: When "free" isn't
1. Free & commercial versions 2. Free for non-profit agreed on that. We have a component that is now completely free to use, but if you want the advanced integrations you need to purchase a license. So ours is listed as 'commercial' for the component. 'free & commercial' would better suite our curr...

Re: [Merged] Section for component specific modules & plugins?
Thanks for the offer! I don't have much spare time these days (still at work) so I'd have to decline right now. Maybe you can solve the chatroom idea by slight mods to what is here. I know were getting way OT here, but what about simply using ICQ/AIM/Y!/MSN clients? If this forum let you put that in...

Re: [Merged] Section for component specific modules & plugins?
I think the forums is the cleanest means of communicating and it leaves a nice trail of what's been discussed. A chatroom would probably not have this ability. Plus it may put more demand on the developers in general. If the API can't help then dig into the overlib library. If I remember right, the ...

Re: Why Are Reviews Not Sorted in Order
Agreed as well. It has to be a tough job to sort through all that info. I think that weight on usefulness is good & a certain amount of weight applied to date of response as well.
Thanks!

Devloper's look at moderated reviews?
With the latest house cleaning you guys did (thanks) I think we lost a review or two. I'm not saying this is bad, since our main extension's overall rating seemed to bump up 1/2 star. Without having any real reference to what was there I have no idea what was removed. I know that this will take some...

Re: [Merged] My Page Favourites - intermediate page
Just casting my vote: i think it's a good idea to allow more advanced sorting of favs. I only have about 6, but I can see a need for that in the future.
thanks!

Re: [Merged] Section for component specific modules & plugins?
Just wanted to say thanks to the JED boys! You guys do great work and always seem to be 'on top' of it. Thanks for breaking dcsFlashGames out into it's own category. That's been kind of busy with extra developers and all the extensions were adding up in the 'sports and games' category. All-in-all......

Re: dcsFlashGames
Feel free to moderate those out. It used to be allowed by the ext site but has since been revised.
You can remove those responses (from dcsweb) if you would like too as they are really not a review.
Thanks!

Re: Older components suffering from no ratings?
Absolutely perfect answer. We were just discussing the minor changes in the extension directory since we signed up awhile back. Comments/reviews used to post almost instantly. Our thoughts were that since the extension count had risen from the 500 or so when we joined that it's up to over 1400 now. ...

Re: Older components suffering from no ratings?
Thanks a ton for such a prompt response. It could simply be that our component stinks! Hopefully that's not the case. It would be helpful to be able to see the voting so that we could adjust our component as needed. Thanks again! Also, we've had some reports that members had wrote a review and...

Older components suffering from no ratings?
We have a component that has been on the extensions directory since this time last year. I know the extensions directory has gone through some revisions, as all good things do. I just have a quick question on the ratings from comments before a rating was required. Most of our rated reviews sit at 5 ...
