Sure, down yesterday and today again...

I am getting a bit stressed.. I need to try this asap in order to decide betwen joomle + virtuemart or oscommerce for a urgent customer...

I am new to joomla and I am afraid about its resources because in two days I was not able to download almost anything from joomlacode... is this normal?  do you need a better hosting maybe? or is it a joomla security hole that produces to this server down?
