Re: Joomla.org running slowly?

Ok, this should be fixed now.  We were looking through the Apache error log and discovered that Apache was choking on the size of the DOMLOGs.  We cleaned them out and restarted the web server.  It should be good to go now. :)

Re: Joomla.org running slowly?

Is there any specific times that this is happening?  Like 2 AM Eastern Time?  Remember, backups occur at that time.

Re: Errors on Joomla! Help Site - Components

Hmm...I Googled this and there seems to be a small bug with the geshi.php module. EDIT! Workaround found! Find the lines that looks like this... [php]$geshi = new GeSHi( $text, $lang, dirname( __FILE__ ) . '/geshi/geshi' ); if ($lines == 'true') { $geshi->enable_line_numbers( GESHI_NORMAL_LINE_NUMBE...

Re: Joomla.org connection slow or site not found.

The "Google storm" seemed to have passed, but I am still making it so that Google can't crawl this site.  It can crawl the other sites, like the main site, developers, and the extensions site, but not the forums.  There is just too much data to collect and would cause this issue to crop up...

I have converted a table in the database that should help increase the performance of the forum, especially when posting new messages.

Re: Joomla.org connection slow or site not found.

We mainly think it is due to Google's "deep crawl".  Once that is done, things should lighten up. This site isn't the only site that is having issues with Google, other sites are complaining too.  There are multiple posts all over the blogsphere ranting about how Google's crawling is takin...

Re: Joomla.org connection slow or site not found.

It should be ok now.

Please note that this server is processing somewhere around 1500 requests with around 75 requests a second, a lot more than it has in the past.  Already it has used 4 GB of system RAM and is using 1.9 GB of swap.

I am not sure about that, you would have to take that up with Brad.  I represent Rochen here, that is all.  Brad is the one that "holds to the keys" to this forum.

Re: Joomla.org connection slow or site not found.

It seems that there is an abnormally high amount of traffic that has been hitting the server lately.  Normally, Apache doesn't ever reach more than 250 simultaneous connections, but recently it has been reaching as high as 650.

Re: help.joomla.org is bugged on today

Normally, if databases become damaged, we run a Database Repair on it.  You can do this by running this query on the database table in question. REPAIR TABLE (table_name); You can run this from PHPMyAdmin if you aren't comfortable with using the command line.  If your server is running CPa...

The tweaks have been applied to MySQL as per some suggestions at the SMF site.  Already I have seen a dramatic improvement in performance.

Re: Joomla.org sites very slow at times

We are hoping that with the couple of tweaks that we have applied, this will be a non-issue. There were some issues with Apache, but we think we have nailed them.  It had to do with some bad Mod_Rewrite Rules. We have upgraded the server's hardware from 1 GB of RAM to 2 GB of RAM.  Because...

RFO: Server Access Slow or Unreachable

We are currrently looking into the reason why the server is responding slowly or not at all.  At this point, we are suspecting a DoS attack.
