Re: Joomla! 1.5 Beta-2 — The Developers' and Designers' Revolution!

Do as I say....not as I do? LOL I will re-iterate it is probably not a good idea to use the beta on a live site. If you are comfortable with using Joomla for a long time this might not be as big a problem as we make it out to be. Newbies should simply not attempt this. If this is your first site wit...

Re: Joomla! 1.5 Beta-2 — The Developers' and Designers' Revolution!

Great work! Just installed the Beta2 without any major hitch... And it looks lovely! Very quick and efficient response time and looks to be much better organized than the previous versions when navigating... Only point of issue I will make is the pre install check still reads a nonexisting configura...

Re: Joomla Copyright in GPL

http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/selling.html#ConfusingTerm  That seems to be the main problem....The legality speaks to the wording used for the act not the act itself! Basically it is wrong to say I am selling you Joomla for $50..but it's just fine and dandy to say I'll give you Joomla for $50!...

Well in this particular case (mind you I didn't really check out everything they did just went to that login page) What they did in their rebranding (changing the Joomla image with their own image, I don't really have a problem with that in itself. I find may clients who I have set Joomla up for wan...

Look at WATicket for your help desk...

The rest are all easy to find in the extentions site!

http://extensions.joomla.org/

For electronic donations you can use one of the paypal modules...you will have to set up a pay pal account for the organization though.

Re: Paper-Less Homework Component

I'm not familiar with moodle so it may be the better answer here, but why not use one of the many Form components? you can easily create a form for each homework assignment. and reuse them! Many also support file attachements (I know Phil a form does). But if you did this via forms you could reuse t...

Re: Do you have a section where we can report Scam Joomla ProS?

There are a number of sites out there that allow you to rate web pros and developers... I agree this is not the site to do it...there is enough going on to take up the mods free time that this is not the place for it.... Besides if you really want to get the word out it is better to get it out at a ...

Re: Need to speed up site for slow connections

No there is no mod... What you can do is attempt to compress the reduce the bandwidth requirements of the graphics being used. This means getting rid of all references to gifs and using jpg or png instead. you could however make a completely seperate template that does not use images as was suggeste...

Re: Moderating In the Lounge

I think it should be pointed out that this is the third time now that a thread had to be split! This all started back here: m A conversation about Joomla being and needing a killer app was twisted into "the community has to have a larger say in what Joomla does" and "How does the community TAKE CONT...
