Re: looks like joomla org hacked

I appreciate the Joomla! team *not* sending fear inducing security alerts about this issue without first fully understanding the cause and resolution. It had to be difficult to stay focused on a sensible course with all the pressure being placed on the team to overreact. Sending out a note that sta...

Re: Discuss: A long day...

That's a hard one. Neither Joomla nor an extension has been hacked, so this luckily has no consequence for websites running Joomla. In that regard I would probably not mention it there. I see what you mean,  in terms of making the announcement and of it being a hard call. I'm not much on the t...

Re: Discuss: A long day...

Thanks for the detailed information. Just a suggestion - should this announcement not also be posted in the security forum, so that those of use who registered for updates by email can receive it that way as well?

Thanks for all your hard work on this.

Cheers

Re: look like joomal.org hacked

I get your point - thanks for clarifying. A better approach IMHO would be to have an announcement forum (or a mailing list a la Drupal alternative) that was only outbound from the joomla.org team - no discussion - to ensure we get the message loud and clear. Whatever the approach taken, it needs to ...

Re: look like joomal.org hacked

I have no idea why this would be even considered as appropriate for Sites and Infrastructure. It has nothing to do with that and everything to do with Security and should be moved back into Security where it belongs.  Except that so much of this thread likewise has nothing to directly do with ...

Re: look like joomal.org hacked

I think a few folks raised a suggestion/recommendation that some form of notification should go out as quickly as possible after something like this happens, and I strongly agree with that idea. I don't necessarily need technical details at the outset (though that would be good if they're available)...

Re: Discussion : Logo Winner Annoucement

I agree with reikimaster on this. Not only is the interlocking hands theme a good one, it shows up in all kinds of art. You could, as others have illustrateed here, link any logo to another one. I think it's professional looking and well designed. I also think the vote is over and decided. Perhaps f...

Re: Discussion : Logo Winner Annoucement

I like it (of course I voted for it). Congratulations, I think it really suits the community metaphor well. Concern over the fact that the colours are similar to those of Windows is just goofy. Looks a lot better than another CMS logo, which always reminded me of those flower traction things people ...
