Re: New slogan
There is something that makes me feel pitty: Compared to the name-finding thread there seems to be only few interest to find a slogan by the community. I'm missing many many highly respected members and their suggestions? I feel a lack of motivation. Maybe because the suggestions so far move in cir...

Re: New slogan
I was hoping the discussion Hannelore, Tyndal and I started would result in good new suggestions for a slogan; well thought over and to the point. Guess I was hoping for too much then as we're gradually falling back to the "Joomla! Easy as 1,2,3 CMS" type of slogan propositions, or worse: "Joomla! P...

Re: New slogan
Tyndal, Hang on, I catch your drift now. You probably meant businesses as customers of the webdesigners... In that case, nothing changes either. The webdesigners can easily make their own slogan for Joomla! In fact, for the webdesigners it is more important to sell their own services than to sell th...

Re: New slogan
Tyndal, Bare with me here, as I will have to play the devil's advocate right now (this it isn't meant personal in absolutely no way!!!). If you're so concerned with the commercial viability of Joomla! and it's backing slogan, why on earth haven't you chosen Miro/Mambo instead? It would be the ration...

Re: New slogan
Slogan for Joomla! If we do want a slogan, it has to be one that conveys the feeling, the essence of Joomla! We should be focussing on what Joomla! is to us, what it means to us, where it comes from and where we want it to take us. We all already know what Joomla! is and those who don't know Joomla...

Re: New slogan
I have an heretical question: Why does Joomla need a slogan? Has Google a slogan? Why not push Joomla to a synonym with "CMS", like Google is with "searchengine". I agree! I second that motion! Actually, been doing some thinking and Hannelore is quite right. Do we need a slogan? Besides the Google ...

Re: New Logo
And the winner is!! http://www.xperis.com/Joomla.gif Brilliant design, it fits all the criteria for a logo, easy to reproduce in any medium! Also a graphic artists dream design! I must admit, that together with the great hand by Peek, this one is very good too. Thing is; it sticks out, even w...

Re: New slogan
While I was edditing my entry in the 'caption contest' over at the Humour Zone, I came up with this one (I actually managed to sort of amaze myself, not that much is needed for that ) Joomla! Sharing content made so easy, You'll want to share it with everyone... So everybody: head over to the...

Re: New Logo
I like mcbweb's idea of turning the hand into an 'a' without altering the basics!! Opposed to the 'chicken' created earlier, I hacked this peacock; it follows the bird analogies and a peacock is a proud animal. Okay, it's a show-off animal too, but if what you have is great (to look at), why shouldn...

Re: New Logo
Whoah... this thread grows like lightning... Here's my 0.02cents The first is a blatant rip-off of one of Jick's (core-dev) logo's he has made for Simpleboard. So, all credits for it go to him, but I like the person-figures in it quite a lot. They'd make for good icons as well. The second one is an ...

Re: New Logo
I agree. The hand (both in shape and color) are too similar to other well known brands. Comparison on color: http://www.torkiljohnsen.com/temp/comparisons.jpg Although you're right about the similarities, I also see quite distinct differences between the others and peek's proposed hand. From anothe...
