Re: Sydney JUG ::: Next Meeting ::: Tues Feb 12th 2008, 6-8:30pm
The prediction on the night that Joomla.org was moving it's forums to phpBB3 at that very specific moment in time was 100% correct... as it turns out. Thank you, thank you very much ;D ;D ;D ;D I must say that I still like SMF *TONS* better, but I might use a bridged system soon to see just how it ...

Re: New forum search blows
Doesn't the "google search" mean that it's looking at the pages indexed in Google ?
Because ALL the links have changed, I wouldn't expect it to work at all

Yes, 100 from memory .... which means that you can't block all the non-English boards on this site.Ehm? Maybe there is a maximum set for the number of boards one can ignore?

Re: Site Outage: Forum Upgrade
Just click the highest level necessary - ignore the subforums - then it works. Not really, there's a post now in Polish > Admin. If I just ignore Polish, I still see the post in Polish > Admin. Anyway, it's better than nothing, I just need to find out which are the most popular forums where I...

What is there abouyt the current freecycle ystem that doesnt work or could work better.
There's a few things on my list

I think the unthreaded nature of Yahoo Groups is terrible.
Maybe one day I'll start a site, but wouldn't just a forum that threads properly (like SMF) be all that is needed ?

Yes, I think RC2 is less risky & buggy than RC1. Although I've also been using RC1 in a production site and haven't seen any problems at all.

Looks good for a first cut, but with my screen at 1024 wide the right side is wrapped below the main text (ie. the weather, newsflash and poll) isn't beside the Welcome area, where I think you intended to have it. I'm Sydney based, but got down that way a few months ago when flying JetStar - nice ar...

Alan, congrat's !!! ..... some fierce competition and you came out on top. yes, it would be nice to have an "ignore forum" checkbox.
I also don't like how it doesn't look at when the page was generated, just looks at current time, but there's an easy way around that

Re: New Logo
I got some new tries for you ;D The idea was it, to show what Joomla is! -> Content managment. The rounded thing means the (flowing) System, and the flash is the content you put inside. I tried this because when you hear "joomla" you dont know what it is http://www.css-comzone.de/stuff/j01.jpg I ...
