Re: Joomla! as intranet for Community Centre
A few suggestions - ⋅ Set up a testing server on your home pc using (for example) appserv . ⋅ Install on it Joomla, Community Builder and Facile Forms to be going on with, and any other components you need to try out. ⋅ Once you've done that and got a system working, yo...

Re: How Do I Move the Date at the Top of Our Joomla Website?
Look in your template's index.php file for "mosPathWay();", and find the date (in your template) in a div called " #date-today" then you can either change them or remove them.

Re: Can't login / can't stay logged
Might be a wild guess, but have a look in the backend that all the directories that are supposed to be writeable are , and maybe install a DB maintenance component or use phpMyAdmin or whatever and check that the sessions table isn't busted in some way. Either can have undesirable consequences for s...

Re: Building my site...
Most of what you propose is possible in CB - the membership levels bit is tricky, as matthewhayashida said. Do you want to offer different access to information depending on level, or simply have a 'rank', a bit like in a forum? (Cos the latter is much easier than the former!) As far as some of the ...

SmoothGallery + Lightbox Joomla Mambot Ajax - Hidden Links
After the fuss over background-coloured links in templates, it is disappointing to see that a similar problem now exists with the mambot in the title of this thread. On investigating the output of this mambot to attempt some customisation, the following markup was found - <div id="gallery_59_1" styl...

Re: NGO web site with lots of club pages how to do this!
That's a big ask, but if you're going to find anything approaching what you're looking for, then Community Builder is the place to start. Have a dig and an ask on their forum and you might let lucky.

Re: Discussion about: Joomla! 1.0.9 out now!!
Great work and Thank You.
I've upgraded two sites with the 1.0.8 -> 1.0.9 patch package, without a hitch, and both sites seem noticably quicker.

Re: Lack of Basic Information Annoying
Finally, had you read my post you'd have learned I can't install the zip which is why I specifically asked for a work-around. My zip utility program opens all my downloaded zips automatically. I did read it. What I didn't do was appreciate that you had no control over your zip utility. If it were m...

Re: Lack of Basic Information Annoying
What you are asking for is a way to do it without doing it the proper way.
Use the zip file and install it through the backend installers like everyone else.
