I think "amateurs" do contribute alot! I am one in many areas still! However... There should be some uptraining required in order to use a software forge. Don't discount projects like that. Sometimes they are new project leaders trying to get a feel for the site. I wouldn't necessarily call it abuse. I think a type of feedback system might be helpful such as "Report to moderator" that would be found in most forums. Then anyone looking at a project could question it's placement or existence.

Divinechaos brings up a good point: Many of the submissions are not standardized and that will cause more difficulty in comparing and picking the final 5. HOWEVER, I do agree that the rules were set for only 5 and that is how it should be. Good luck to everyone
