Re: JED Update Questions and Discussion.
I think if the download itself can be gotten without paying, it should be non commercial. Extension clubs and any paid downloads should be commercial.
All people really want to know is if they'll have to pay to get the extension... details after that are really secondary.

Re: JED Update Questions and Discussion.
Just because someone chooses "Other" doesn't mean the license is not compatible. Feel free to elaborate on your license in your descriptions. As a matter of fact, it's a good idea to do so. Eliminates confusion before a user heads to your website to download. I'm forming a list of frequent...

Re: JED Update Questions and Discussion.
Patience, patience! The list of unpublished extensions is quite long, in fact. We've been working on this switch (and of course we're all volunteers and there was the Easter holiday). I think you'll find that things will be slow for the next few days minimum, as we'll be trying to complete all the r...

JED update email
Extension owners were sent an email asking them to update their information in the JED. If you didn't get that email, or you're curious, here it is: We have updated Joomla! Extensions Directory - Your assistance is needed! After 2 1/2 years of hard work, the 1.5 stable has finally been released. Dur...

The Joomla Extensions Directory has been updated!
We have updated the Joomla! Extensions Directory today! We have added some long awaited features like the ability to distinguish Joomla 1.5 Legacy from Joomla 1.5 Native in the compatibility field. We have also changed the license field to only cover the actual license, and "Commercial" an...

Re: Joomla Spam Section
You know one of the things that would really help the Extension Directory and other aspects of Joomla become more rich and organized? Answer a few support questions. The JED editors are just Joomla volunteers like everyone else. And we read the forums and answer support questions too. The less time ...

Re: IXXO Cart for Joomla
You might get lucky finding that page as it was written when you bought your stuff (versus the change) by using the Internet Wayback Machine (http://www.archive.org) It will show you what it said on the IXXO site (or any other site) in a given month in history. If you can show the archive page to Pa...

Re: Joomla Spam Section
4th pet peeve... 1.5 Legacy mods??? This should not be entered into the 1.5 group and should remain as 1.0 - all the developer is saying is he can't be bothered to upgrade the mod. Who is going to put there new 1.5 board in legacy mode for one plugin when they are using several others natively? The...

Re: What happened to the forum today???
I'm going to say, again, that this is currently being worked on. It's a custom search modification, and the programmer is apparently aware of the issues and working on it. The Google CSE search at the top works just fine for complex search strings and returns a decent result for me. Especially for w...

Re: What happened to the forum today???
Ok I see now. Since a post you start is only relevant to the thread you're replying in, you'd only find it when you change your mind and come back and try to reply again.
Not something I'd have come up with on my own without being serious about wanting to find it.

Ken, that's been done, and it works now. It's not a box, but look to the very right of your screen when you are on the front page of the forum. Next to Logout, Forum Rules, is Search. Brad announced that it is now 100% indexed and functioning better than ever, in this forum, last night. http://forum...

Re: What happened to the forum today???
Regarding mod_rewrite, broken old links, the CSS-less links, etc:
In testing, it worked. In practice, not so much. These are being addressed as soon as possible, we definitely made allowances for the old URLs... but in the end they did not work as anticipated.
We are working to fix.

Re: What happened to the forum today???
I can't seem to subscribe to forums unless a specific subscribe link is made (as in the description of Annoucements). I've looked all over the page... I don't see a subscribe link in any forum (unless it was specifically made).

Hehe. You know I was just going to respond similarly to Amy, so I feel like it's redundant, but here goes. I don't think you, zippy, understand the concept of a volunteer help forum. There are hundreds of new posts asking for help here every hour. There are only so many people answ...

Re: This forum seems to censor negative comments about Joomla
Just so you know, this help forum is entirely volunteer based. You might want to think twice about insulting the software, the forum moderators, and the forum users if you want to continue to receive any help at all. I gathered from your post of many duplicates that you were "done" with Joomla...

Can you think of an example website that does what you consider "not typical"? It would be easier for folks to figure out if they can pull that off or not.
