Re: Joomla.com site width and hosting plan
Joomla.org does not use a plan. They use a suite of dedicated servers for all of the Joomla! sites.

Re: Joomla? Demos!
The site demonstrations were taken offline due to spam and other garbage being manually inserted into the content areas (since anyone could register a demo account). Since some "pacthing" needed to be done to the core files to make the demos more secure from spammers it was decided to get help from ...

Re: Site Demonstration unavailable
The demo sites are unavailable because: 1. Brads evil twin escaped and tried to take over the world. 2. There just aren't enough volunteers to go around. We tried to make clones but that didn't work. 3. We tried to grow new volunteers by chopping up the old ones and planting the pieces in a flower p...

Re: Hosting Providers With Very Poor Standards
Making hosting providers adhere to a code of conduct falls outside of Joomla!'s perview.
If we could make people think a certain way, then I'm sure it would be that OpenSource (and Joomla!) is better than gold.

Re: Hosting Providers With Very Poor Standards
And who would regulate and investigate these "reports" of poor service levels? Because if you asked the hosting provider their take would probably be that they went above and beyond to make their customer happy. Who determines what is a "fair go"? What one person considers fair can be totally differ...

Re: Hosting Providers With Very Poor Standards
While this is a good idea, in theory, it really isn't possible. Having this type of list goes against the "wall-of-shame" rule. Not to mention the fact that any hosting provider that got listed as "bad" would strictly be that posters opinion. Just because community members have issues installing or ...

Perhaps it's smart technology and knows that you're logged in and so it shows you your own email address, so you can see what it is and change it if you need to.

Re: this forum's search is broke
Sarcasm wasn't intended. Just my strange sense of humor. You did see the smiley didn't you.
I did a search for RC2 and didn't have any issues accessing any of the pages - 1, 2, 4, 9, 17, 24, 32, etc.

Re: this forum's search is broke
Would you care to describe the problem you're having or shall we guess?
I didn't see anything wrong with the search that I just did. I got pages 1 - 34. Pages 1, 2, 10, 25, 34 all seemed to work correctly for me.
MOD NOTE: Moving to S & I forum.

Re: Weird line at top of forum?
When entering that URL in IE 7.x my virus software went crazy. I also got an IE message that this is some type of remote data access script that was trying to install something.

Re: demo.joomla.org
The 1.0.12 demo was up and operational and had just been patched to .13 (on Tuesday 14 August). I was also in the process of setting up the 1.5 RC1 demo. But that was before this little server hiccup. As soon as the other Site/Server Admins are finished taking care of the things (restoring, investig...

The date on the .13 changelog is Monday, 25 December 2006. The contents of the changelog look correct though. Perhaps someone could change the date. It just looks strange to me to have the .12 and .13 logs with the same date.

Re: Joomla Forum Registeration Problem

Why must the censored word be contained within brackets, thus setting it off from the other parts of the user id? Why is it important to highlight the censored word within brackets? What is the meaning or de...

I'd even be willing to buy it at a reasonable price, if it were released commercially. It would be worth it.
