Don't forget the trailing '/', or in your case '\'.  I am on a hosted server so my folder location was a bit longer, but yes I think that it is looking for the exact location of the folder.  I tried at some point to cut and paste info into the install box and found out that it didn't alway...

Could it be a path problem?  I just started using Joomla and when I tried to install modules and components, I realized that I had to change the directory on the install from box to %systemroot%/joomla/modules/modulename/ .  What would come up normally would look like %systemroot%/joomla/a...
