Re: Discussion about: Logo Competition - Community Vote begins

Jambo! many comments starts with something like "cool", "stylish", "excellent", "nice". And the tips in the contest rules starts with something like "who's the logo for", "must look good as tag line on web site for users", "must look good in different color spaces for screen & print(CMYK vs RGB)" an...

Re: New Logo

For those who have shown interest in the hand print, this is the original picture. I'am afraid the hole has nothing to do with any "eye" explanation, but is just a consequence of the natural curve of the palm when the hand was placed on the rock. Hi Jean-Marie, i like your handlogo and your words a...

My suggestion would be to substitute the blue from the OSM forum template in place of the red.. Hi absalom, yes we can http://www.joomladijoomlada.com/images/joomla_20.png http://www.joomladijoomlada.com/images/joomla_21.png http://www.joomladijoomlada.com/images/joomla_26.png Best regards, Joern

Re: New Logo

I guess, Joomla - what means "all together" - includes the darlings and the blockheads, and besides them everybody else, who wants to be a part of it. This is the claim of the Joomla community - and not the other way round. A logo should be as acceptable for a wide variety of users as Joomla itself...

Re: New Logo

Another thought: The logo should fit in every color scheme of website templates - if you put it in the footer or in the newsfeed-reader or as a reference for "powered by" it should be kind of "neutral" or modest. If it stands out too much or conflicts with the rest of the site people will not use i...

I'm saying that there are logos out there that look very similar. For me it´s the same like every single letter of joomla! ... it´s already out there. Yeah, this was done on purpose ... Someone mentioned we should possibly contact them to see if they'd be willing to allow us to incorporate it into our logo... Love the color scheme so wanted to stick with the same look. The first one shows the logo by itself. The second shows my guides to show that everything is very specifically placed for a reason (and that I'm anal about good design structure  ). The upside down "j" in the orb represents the "!" ...

I other words – we are starting all over? What would happen if Coca-cola changed name – how many would not know and begin drinking a new soda (or change to a new CMS)? I guess there is great difference. Most of the branding of C-C is (only) the name. And it works for them, because they have to earn...

Re: Mambo Open Source Development Team - Letter to the community - Discussion

For an academic view on the DevTeam/Miro Relationship and their decisions "against each other", the game theory by John Forbes Nash jr. may be a good starting point. Theoretical, it must have been a better choice to hold "branding", "intellectual property" and "community power" together. But everyth...
