Re: Logging into the forum never works the first time (password errors)
For security reasons, the password is hashed on your side using JavaScript before it is sent to the server. This means that your password cannot be intercepted by a third-party. However, this usually causes some password savers to fail. Opera, I know, works. Only some versions/conf...

Re: Forum RSS feed?
THis does not work I get only the list of posts from " Joomla Sites - Feedback/Information" You are correct. Any idea how to get this working correctly? You used "board" not "boards". If you wish to list multiple boards, use boards not board. m I'm not sure if the integration plays nice with ...

Most certainly. Assuming good index/key usage and good code, such "tweaking" goes a wonderfully long way.
Pages are also fairly small and to the point.

Flash can be a security risk (steal cookies, make users do things they don't want to, etc.), depending on what version of Flash Player users of the forum are using.

They mean to upgrade this forum tonight, so if you're okay with it being unread unanswered posts, it might be easier to just wait a few hours .

My opinion is, of course, biased, but I'd say you have the following advantages/important notes with each system: Simpleboard: - very integrated with Joomla/Mambo, in a "native" sort of way - made especially for it. - administration, templating, and such in the same way as Mambo/Joomla...

That URL works for me, but it was just an example. You'll want to use the ids of the boards you want.
Talk about an "ignore boards" feature was done in another topic.

Click on this image next to the board in question:
Or, use a URL like the following:
http://forum.joomla.org/index.php?actio ... ,5,6,7,8,9
Where the numbers correspond to those boards which you are interested in.

Re: Forum Error - Number of Views increments everytime i see the same topic
If you view multiple pages inside a topic, you will only add one view for the topic. Basically, if the last topic you viewed is the topic in question, you won't increment the number of views.
Otherwise, it will be incremented - whether you viewed it yesterday or not.

Re: "Mark as Read" to specific boards not working
Are you sure of all of the following?
[*]The page you're going to is not cached. Try pressing F5.
[*]The topics you are seeing weren't posted since you marked the board as read.
[*]You are marking the correct board as read (it does not effect child boards.)

A solution to this might be to configure the forum to use SMTP instead of sendmail, but this would be less efficient.

The icons on the topic pages are a little hard to decipher I agree. When we settle down into 'normal' operations, we can look at tweaking these little cosmetic issues. Also it should be mentioned that the SMF Team have been kindly helping us and other members here get used to SMF and get the most o...

Re: Personal Messaging System - PM - No confirmation of message sent.
There is currently no such option. Some people, like me, cannot stand seeing, "your post has been made. Now please wait while I waste your precious time for no real reason" messages.
An option could easily be added, which would only require modifying a couple lines.

That is how to do unanswered posts, but it won't work until next release.
In other words, unread posts - but sorted by the number of replies, ascending. You can also sort individual boards by number of replies currently.

Or you can use ; instead of & for those that have problems with that syntax. I'm really not sure why newsreaders are so picky, but they are - for example, Google will only accept (from what I've seen) them if they end with .xml.
