Re: forum.joomla.org :: You cannot make another post

Brad, even in Germany you don't get flatrates when you are a dial-up user. There are many places without broadband and only with broadband you get a flatrate there. In case you don't have a flatrate you are not only slow, you have to pay time being online as well. When you have prepared answers on s...

Re: What happened to the forum today???

Im not allowed to tell something negative but, here some comparison between this forum main page and main page of a forum currently in test by me in hosted environment: phBB : test-forum = 20 : 1 in best case. Test performed with "ap -c10 -n10" (apache profiler). This means nothing. make ...

Re: What happened to the forum today???

Kellanved, I watch popular software since long time. phBB belongs to this species. I'm pretty sure it will be fixed and improved here at this site very much (as far as possible). I do comparisons while installing different products on one and same server in same environment. Than I create dummy cont...

Re: What happened to the forum today???

This <censored> piece of forum even has stupid trivial SQL errors: Which are due to a MOD installed and a bit of a misconfiguration issue. (if you look at the error, you would notice this. Brad also confirmed. ;) ) Is this of any interest? Where is this Mod living? In core or extern? I really do no...

Re: Last page of particular topic causing SQL error

Apparently, it is something to do with that exact page. Better an error like that than a db crash, however. I don't believe it is something related to this very page. It can be displayed choosing some option. There are problems with DB and phpBB at this very server at least (time outs, server not r...

Re: Can not read thread

Be creative - just "reply" to the topic and look at the topic review until it is fixed - that seems to work. ;) Oh my god ... I'm trying hard to find issues with Joomla! and spend a lot of time to check core while working on several own extensions and templates and doing work to earn my i...

Re: Can not read thread

Brad,

I really wish you good luck.

And ...

It's a joke writing DB locking occures when one can read longer threads in a forum, isn't it?

Re: What happened to the forum today???

This <censored> piece of forum even has stupid trivial SQL errors: Clicking on page 5 of this thread spits out a SQL warning and that's it. I really do not understand decision to use this software. It's known to be buggy and un-secure due to need of hacking core when one wants to extend it. Therefor...

Re: What happened to the forum today???

I believe everybody still have the freedom to choose Fireboard or phpBB as their forum Joomla script. If you are not familiar with phpBB please go there and understand the power of this large community and phpBB 3.0. If you like Fireboard, SMF etc better no one stops you. But please give phpBB a ch...

Re: What happened to the forum today???

This incarnation of forum is buggy very much. I had to change my password two times within three days to be able to login. Tried it last time some minutes ago with IE6 which hangs now. Due to quality of Windows this forces me to reboot the very machine. looks funny when somebody using IE6 is compla...

Re: What happened to the forum today???

Just another try to log in to this forum with IE6:

"You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. ..."

This causes a lot of trouble for me in relation to Joomla! because several people being interested in getting Joomla! set up by me use IE6 and watch forums occational. :(

virus alert when generating email?

Hi! I received notification about voting for Joomla! via email. This mail was sent by SMF. Now, for being "on the road" very often and earning my money with supporting customers I use multiple ways to get email: ⋅ direct from remote server with imap ⋅ direct from remote server wi...
