Re: Joomla.org front page redesign - Recommendation

That is a really nice section on your site devoted to helping people also discover Joomla!. I am humbled by that. It is very touching. What it says to me is that you really do care and you are honestly concerned that we don't lose people who are interested in using Joomla! -- just because it's hard ...

Re: Joomla.org front page redesign - Recommendation

If you have used Joomla! since it's beginnings, and this person was your friend, why didn't you help him find what he needed and encourage him to hang in there? I hope you let him know Joomla! was worth it! It is such a different approach, I realize, but we are a community, not a company that has re...

Re: Joomla.org not friendly to new visitors

Well, we try to be friendly - we warmly welcome new visitors! But, we still have room for improvement. :) Brad's right, though. It's very difficult to communicate effectively. Some things that we hoped were very broad targets have been missed. Like the Help button. It seems like an obvious button, o...

Re: Registration hack question - put user details in a 2nd table?

Kevin Devine has been working in this area and has already created a User Meta plugin that allows us to customize the user parameters. In phase 2 of his project, Kevin is working on expanding this customization to also include tables linked on the userid. He is trying to pave that path that the core...

Re: Search issues

I'm guessing you are using IE? There have been a few people who have had that problem - a small set of IE users. It appears that Microsoft has some type of security "enhancement" that is not working quite right. It also appears to have something to do with the trillions of options one can ...

Re: This forum seems to censor negative comments about Joomla

I've been having some horrible problems with Joomla 1.5 and have become very frustrated with it. I've vented quite a bit in my posts about my troubles but in each post I have also asked specific questions directed at finding/fixing the problems. It seems however that the moderators of this forum wa...

Sweet! Is this the line for an iPhone? Judging from the number of people hoping to separate out the old v 1.0 extensions from the bright and shiny new Joomla! v 1.5 MVC Application Architecture modules, plugins and components, I would say Joomla!'s future is bright!  While we are waiting, we c...

Re: Divide the extension section into j1 and j1.5 [poll]

Did you know that you could do an advanced search? And that one of the options is to select 1.5 or 1.0 extensions? Good point. Now, what would be beneficial (I think) is to have the compatibility listed on the page w/o having to go into the component first., maybe right below the C/M/T icons..... Y...

Would you be willing to provide that code? And also, instructions for how to install and configure it.

When it comes right down to it, we need to each help - do something productive - contribute.

Let's see what you got!

Does that completely resolve the problem, and now the Blogger API for xml-rpc is usable?

If so, let's get that patch moving into core.

Re: Trying to find the right way to use XML-RPC

Almost two years ago, Johan added Blogger API v 1 to Joomla! v 1.5. That's the pieces you are working with. It really should be updated to 2.0. There is some code started on a MetaWeblog API that there was just no time to finish. That might provide someone a place to start with that API. Make certai...

Re: Trying to find the right way to use XML-RPC

I do not know of anyone successfully using it. There have been many saying they want to use it. To the best of my knowledge, it's not had much developer attention for a long time, nor do I believe it will have any before v 1.5 goes live. In my opinion, this solution will need to come from our commun...
