http://extensions.joomla.org/ is down, not working . . . may be for maintenance
Re: http://extensions.joomla.org/ is down, not working
I would think if there was maintainance window - they wouldn't do it in the middle of the working day - rather like on Sunday or something - that's how we usually do it, and they would put up a note I think. My guess - it's down.

I don't know what's been going on but lately at least one of the sites seems to be down. One day it's the forums, next day it's dev or extensions.
Sounds like they either need a new webmaster or a better host.

Well, the amount of hits these sites get is quite significant. Patience patience

Was their web site hacked? I mean, nothing is working... the search, download, demo, etc., I wonder if it has anything to do with a security vulnerability in Joomla?
Another possibility... I did not see when the stable release of Joomla was announced, but I know it's fairly recent. Perhaps there just happens to be a sudden spike in traffic to the site that they were not prepared to handle.
Either way, it' s surprising how silent the Joomla team is; you would think that something like this would not go unnoticed that easily.

I have restarted Apache on this box and the site is back up.
Relax people. There is no cause for alarm.
You had better take your paranoia somewhere else though. Further, please read the forum rules and do not cross post. You posted this exact same comment elsewhere. Was their web site hacked?
