Re: Medley Mag - Putting the spotlight on YOUth!
Very nicely done site. The organization seemed very clear to me, and the first impression was very positive.
I would make the following suggestions:
On the home page, I liked the graphic in the top left module position under "meet the students." It was very colorful and attractive.
If possible, though, I'd love to see it resized to fill the entire module position. The same would be true of the graphic in the middle ("About Mullauna College"). Make it a bit larger (you may have to crop it a bit) to fill the entire module box.
On the logo at the top right, the words "Medley Mag" are in red, and are a bit hard to see in the image. Perhaps changing that text to white would make it "snap" more.
When I click "contact us" I get a page which lists your contact categories. But, you have only one category, so I have to click again to actually see some names.
If you intend to add other categories later, that's find. But otherwise, I would jump directly to the table of contacts and drop the intermediate page.
On the "About Us" page there seems to be some extra white space between the title and the body of the article. You may want to check that.
On a number of these articles, the date is sometime in May 2006. But, they were updated in Dec. 2007. You may want to drop the dates on some of these more generic undated types of content items.
On this page: http://www.medleymag.com.au/index.php?o ... &Itemid=75 the photo seems to have been resized, but the proportions are not correct. You may want to check that as the photo seems a bit stretched.
Again, these are just suggestions. You have done a very nice job with the site.

Thankyou very much for the great suggestions!
I've made most of the changes... the images will take a little longer though because the borders and margins around the modules will need to be removed from css...
Thanks again!

I would keep the border around the modules.
But it looks to me like you might be able to resize the images to be larger and possibly fill the space.
Attached is a rough sample of what I was thinking of. Hopefully the module will allow you to use more of the space.

That was quick! Are you a professional web designer?
I did understand what you meant.. but if you take a look at the medley at mulluana image you can see 2 background stripes on the edge of the image... that's the inbuilt css border... when I uploaded the images I thought it might look a little odd with 2 thin green stripes, which is why I made it a little smaller...
It's definitely doable, I'll just need to modify the css page a little...
thanks again for your interest and suggestions!

No, I'm not a pro at all. Just an amateur.
on the css questions, you are right ... it all depends on what the template allows.
It may be best just to leave it as is . I just really liked that graphic and wanted to see it as large as possible.
I also liked the other sites you posted, especially the college site. Very nice.
