J!DIA - Better integration of Democracy in Action and Joomla

Post by cozimek » Wed Oct 18, 2006 1:43 am

Hi everyone,

I know that there are a great number of organizations in this forum that are users of the Democracy in Action CRM system.  Obviously, those that know of PICnet, know we're big supporters of DIA, and have worked with them since their inception to better integrate non-profit Web sites with their system.

Well, we've come a long way, and we're soon going to be releasing what we're calling J!DIA.

You can learn more on our blog at:

http://www.picnet.net/blog/2006/10/16/j ... n-harmony/

More information coming soon, but when this is released (slotted as an open source release), we really think it's going to make life a lot easier for Joomla and DIA users.

We'd really appreciate thoughts, ideas, and gripes about what people would like to see included in a Joomla-DIA component.

Best,
Ryan

What is the status of this project?

We use both Joomla and DIA/SALSA and would love tools to tie them together.

What I really need is one profile/log in that maintains the data for users/supporters - so people who want to register to comment via our Joomla blog pages are already part of the system via DIA and don't have to create new profiles.  If they need to update their email address they should only have to do it once, etc.

One of the sites that uses DIA and Joomla is also considering using Community Builder; specific subgroups of supporters need to be able to interact, etc.

This project seems to be tabled or something - I don't see any updates since 2006. What's the deal?
