Hello Everyone?
In everything all right on the extension approval end & also Joomla DB server end?
On the first point i submitted a extension to the directory 2 Days ago, & it still hasnt been approved & no other new extension has come up either.
Secondly here in India the Joomla extensions site was very slow yesterday & at one point Could not connect to Database page was showing up.

Re: Approval Bottleneck?
Please note that the JED work is handled by volunteers that work very hard. 2 days is not long to wait, considering the volume of work they have to do.
Also the next time you have issues connecting please do a traceroute to what ever site your are accessing that is slow, to see where the connection is going bad. I know that my connection all day to almost everywhere has been very slow, it isn't the sites I am visiting it is my internet provider.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Re: Approval Bottleneck?
Hey thanks for the reply!
I know work is handled by volunteers, but i was a bit worried as till now its never taken over a period of 8 hrs for an extension to get approved!
Regarding connection speed, yes i'd checked that but it was ok. What i was reporting was that the Joomla extensions DB Server might have been down for some time ( only a few mins i guess) as i got the '2' could not connect to database error while accessing the site.
Also i'd like to volunteer for the JED team if you have a place do let me know! I'll be glad to help out.
Regards
Parth

Re: Approval Bottleneck?
Yes, normally we try to approve extensions on daily basis. However, we experience sickness in the team right now and that's the reason that the approvement process takes a little longer time than normal.
Thank you for your offer to volunteer to the JED team. We have precisely recruited some new members to the team. However, it isn't said that we wouldn't need more people in the future since the Extensions Directory is growing. For us it is very important to try to find the right people with showen commitment and have some spare time over. I think a good way is to start to help out as WG member, like to be a moderator, help out with the documentation etc. In this way we get a chance to know you better
