Can't Finish Registration Process

I finished the form located at http://joomlacode.org/gf/account/?action=UserAdd for access to the Joomla 1.5 Download.

I received the email message to complete the activation (http://joomlacode.org/gf/account/?actio ... 265e933dec) and this error message comes up:

"Could not get user"

Okay, maybe I did something wrong. So, I go back to the form I used to create the account and Copy & Paste my User Name and Password. No joy. The page still kicks out a "Could not get user" error.

So then I figure maybe the account was activated and the error message is wrong. So, I trot on over to a login screen (http://joomlacode.org/gf/account/?action=Login). I get an "Invalid username and/or password" error message. Damn!

Next, I go to the Resend Confirmation web page (http://joomlacode.org/gf/account/?actio ... nfirmation):

It kicks back: "User doesn't exist"

Alright, something is screwy. I spend another ten minutes looking for a webmaster or email support address. No joy. I don't even find a link pointing to this forum. That's pretty bad guys. I spend more time trying each form again just to be sure it is not human error. I even go into IE to see if the problem is browser related. Still no joy.

Now I assume my registration form was not actually accepted for some reason. I resubmit it.

* That username already exists.
* User with this email already exists.

Please, please, please tell me this is an isolated error and not the normal function of Joomla authentication. And if some kind admin could activate the account or reset it, I might then download the code to see if it fits my needs.

I hope it's good, I've already lost about 40 minutes just getting access to the download

The first download link on the joomla.org (http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... ckage_id=2) for Joomla 1.5 redirects to a login page. That indicated to me that downloading Joomla 1.5 required registration.

Ah, yes. It seems there is a second download link on joomla.org for Joomla 1.5. Thanks for spotting it.

Sorry about that.. we'll have to fix that up. Forcing people to register would be rather unpleasant.
