Apologies I was upgrading the Extended Syndication system we use as it had a few bugs.

Will be back up shortly.

I don't know if you know this: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,25818.0.html

This might be an alternative.

Actually I am aware of your component and it fills an important functionality void and does a good job.

However the syndication functionality we use on the official Joomla! site is a precursor to what will eventually be in the core.
And while your approach is solid, the method we are moving to is far more extensible.

It works much like the search component, so that you can create a feed for any addon, core or 3PD.
For example I can now syndicate the Weblink and Contact data.  You could syndicate gigcalendar data, or docman data.

With my latest work on the functionality I believe I have worked out most of the kinks, so I will be releasing it as an 'Official' Addon to the community soon, for further testing and to prepare 3PDs for its inclusion into the core - ie they can begin coding for it.
