Connection Problem & Question

Post by TWDesigns » Thu Sep 01, 2005 7:19 pm

2 things.

First of all  I get hundreds of "Connection Refused to opensourcematters.org" errors  and also the other site.  Took me about 40 minutes just to get registered.  I even went in to the office and had the same problem.  May want to check in to that.

Second.  Where do you download the new "joomla!" at.  Or is it released under that name yet?  I couldn't find ANY links pointing me towards a download section on the new site.

I think that the servers have been under pressure with so many people waiting on the new name announcement. Also you must understand that the current servers are an interim measure until a more comprehensive website, forum and developer zone is established. I understand that this will be very soon.

Currently there does not seem to be a "joomla" release, but you can download the latest stable release from this core team which is the mambo version 4.5.2.3

This can be found at http://www.opensourcematters.org

Things should be under better control now. At the peak we were seeing about 1000+ visitors across the forums, OSM and Joomla websites which were pushing around 6MBit/sec of traffic. There was more traffic this time around then during the previous 'slashdotting'. We have made various configuration / infrastructure changes which should allow for better management of the traffic now.

Thanks :)

No problem, everything is a little crazy at the moment - but exciting too. Remember we have the same award winning team that we always had.

Lets all look forward to joomla the award winning cms !!

fired!

Just kidding.  You may want to put up a notice on the other site that the new CMS isn't downloadable yet under the new name.  The way the site reads it's like thousands of people are already useing "Joomla!"  I spent forever trying to find the download link =p.
