Developer Zone Forum Question?
Developer Zone Forum Question?
I can't create new posts in the Developer zone. I see that the forum is not closed, and that there are newbs posting there. Any reason why?

new post? did you mean new comment or new blog?
Only Joomla Developer is allowed to post blogs there
Waddaya mean I can't swing my lightsaber in the forum??
Re: Developer Zone Forum Question?
Damienov thanks for the reply
I was talking about new posts Under the Developer Zone root directory
So does this mean that developer zone is only for people developing core Joomla? If this is the case, when I am developing mods/coms where should I post my questions? For example I really want to know the preferred method for creating a database table when installing a module.
Also if it is only for joomla core developers why are there newbs making new posts? Sorry if that sounds rude, but it's kind of suprising.

Re: Developer Zone Forum Question?
You should be able to create posts in the developer forum. I have just checked permissions, and all people who are authenticated against the forum are able to post questions there. Do you get an error message when you try to create a post?

Re: Developer Zone Forum Question?
In the root of the developper forum there is indeed no 'new topic' button. When you go to a subforum, for example Joomla 1.0.x Dev, the button is there.
If this is intended so, I can appreciate the logic behind that.
I just don't understand how those posts in the root of the developper forum got there ...

Re: Developer Zone Forum Question?
The Dev zone is closed to posting, however the sub forums are not. This ensures that people post in the correct version/section etc etc. Hope the explanation helps

Re: Developer Zone Forum Question?
Thanks for all the info. One last question. I have a development question. For example I really want to know the preferred method for creating a database table when installing a module (I am technically able to perform this a few ways, but I don't know what is recommended/preffered). Where should I post this?
Many thanks again.

Re: Developer Zone Forum Question?
Try the 1.0.8 or if it related to 1.1 dev forum
