NPO OS Prizes!?

Post by Slideri812 » Wed Apr 05, 2006 10:11 pm

I am wondering if there are any prizes (annually) specifically for those who develop OS applications for positive social change and nonprofit use in particular? In the US?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Slider82,

Hmmm, you know, i don't know of any (and I go to way to many US based non-profit technology conferences).  When you say prizes, do you mean submissions for awards for things like "best web development application for the non-profit sector"?

Best,
Ryan

Hey Ryan,

I mean something where some group or entity offers an annual prize to individuals or groups that serve OS and NPO needs?

I have a client that thinks they are the first to ever make such an offer. I have not been able to find anything like it, but I thought I'd ask here as there are so many from here that work in and around the NPO world (including ourselves).

I plan to post the site in the correct place (NP Site showcase) when it is finished but you can have a look at it here:

They want to make sure that if they say they are the first that they truly are. This is really a remarkable cause.

Please feel free to spread the word to OS developers as you see fit.

Thanx again for your interest/ reply.
