Project templates cleanup

Post by akede » Tue May 16, 2006 8:56 am

Hi,

is it possible to cleanup the project templates?

We have a bounch of quite unlogical and not really effective templates in the list. May be we could create some real workable once and then close this feature for future us.

Would be willing to help in defining those templates.

Won't make that before my holiday, but am happy to start that after my holiday.

A second thing on the list is to take a look at empty projects.

K no issue.

I think we should have at least two reasonable templates

a) Software projects (incl. Tracker for bugs, suggestions, and standard discussion boards)
b) Language / Translation projects

May be we can find one or two more logical groups.

Have started with creating a list of empty projects. Will take a while, but hopefully finish that somewhere next week. Templates are next on the list.

Ok - I've documented a kind of "standard" roles, discussion boards aso. which could be helpful for such a template.

I suggest when you have some time we start a closed project and prepare this to the version we want to have it and then we can generate a template out of it. It doesn't make sense to start a huge documentation for it, best practice implementation could be most easy.

I'll look into it beginning of next week and will write some basics here in the thread.
