Sorry Jinx, the experience was far too funny not to share.

Congrats to you, Brian and all of the presenters on a great UK Joomla! Day.
Was superb.

Peter -
It is so great that you shared this wonderful article. It is nice when we are able to get a glimpse of the "person" behind the work.
I love the picture of Johan standing in front of the cricket game. I enjoyed his blog and pictures, as well. In it, I believe he mentioned some close comparison between watching the sport and paint drying, in terms of excitement levels. It probably is an acquired taste.
It was also nice to see and to hear about Chris Adams, and we obviously appreciate his generosity, as well. Johan had a shot of you, too, which was great to see! So, now we now have proof all of you are real people and the whole thing about the aliens can be forever dismissed.
It sounds like you were a gracious host to Johan, Chris and Jacki, and your country is beautiful. For me, learning about how others live and seeing their amazing countries is a key benefit to participating in this community.
From the apparent enthusiasm by people who attended, Brian's hard work organizing and holding this event was worthwhile. Thanks to you, Johan and Brian for your effort and sharing with our community.

Edit: grammar.
and, I am certain I missed more.

The Rules of Cricket
"When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out, he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who are all out all the time, and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game."

It is really difficult to understand why Johan wouldn't find that thrilling to watch! (That was hilarious, Brian. I hope those aren't official rules!) Great job on your UK day. Please come and do that for the US!

Aahhh, okay! I see now! It all makes perfect sense.

I'm sorry I missed UK Joomla! Day. By a monumental stroke of bad timing I was on holiday in North Wales at the time. I hope I can make it next year. I don't suppose you have a date fixed yet so I can reserve it in my diary?
Regards,
Chris.

No not got a firm date yet for Joomla!Day UK 2007 but I was thinking of around March/April time.
Joomla!Day should be coming to the USA sometime soon I know that there are plans under foot to get his off the ground.

Awful lot of the old in and out going on in Cricket!
Re: Discussion about : Johan Janssens Bamboozled by Cricket
Jinx did bring a whole new angle to cricket that I hadn't considered before...
Btw Johan, the BBC have a live stream of the England v Pakistan cricket here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket ... 247908.stm
Perhaps this would be a worthwhile component for 1.5? Given the interest and all.... it might even get 'pops' using Joomla
