What happen to all of the extensions
It seems that there are a lot of extensions that use to be listed on Joomla that are no longer available. Three months ago, there were numerous BLOG options listed and now there are only a couple with a few modules. I have extensions I put on one site and then when I come back later to get it again for another site -- it is no where to be found. Did someone clean house or something? -- Rick

Re: What happen to all of the extensions
In a word, yep. Back when the extension server was first created a lot of the most popular extensions were added to the server to populate it. The extension owners were given the opportunity to claim those extensions, most of which were claimed.
Some were not, and they've since been removed from the server. Others have been found to be vulnerable to hacking and also been removed.
That said, you've still got, to date, 722 extensions on the server that we believe are currently maintained and point to live servers, which isn't bad going.

SEF ext? Re: What happen to all of the extensions
So... is there a free SEF extension? People (on the joomla forums) are (or were) raving about 404SEF and Open-SEF but I can't find where to download them. And I understand some of them are not "free" anymore.
I see an ext called "OPEN-SEF and Joomlaboard integration" but that doesn't look like the full OPEN-SEF ext. and I'm not currently using a bb of any kind.

Hi partherton,
You can find OpenSEF at this link: http://www.open-sef.org/
The 404sefx extension is temperarely unpublished until possible vulnerability is solved.
