Re: Discuss : Joomla! 1.5 Beta Release Date Announced
Congratulations to everyone who has contributed all the hard work required to bring Joomla! 1.5 to fruition.
Now the real work can begin for everyone in the community to start evaluating, testing and providing feedback.
Remember the release of 1.5 Beta is just the beginning. We all need to help now to turn 1.5 into a real production ready release.
(If you are wondering where the figures for the cost of the development of Joomla! 1.5 come from then it is from http://www.ohloh.net)
1.5 Not an upgrade but a new beginning

I hope not! 12 days sounds exciting, a year not!
Great news, sometimes it's good to set a date to work with, even if it is amended later on. At least it gives the dev's a point in time. Normally you have 3 params in projects, as Joomla! is open source unpaid volunteer work, the budget is out already, so with no precise ressources parameter, at least a date is something!
Good luck getting it ready! Pressure's on now.
Nice birthday gift for me anyway if it's ready.

Congrats to the whole team and many thanks for the "one-more-thing" answer to a often "one-more-time" question asked.
Joomla! 1.5 will be awesome for developers.
* Beat is marking in his and CB-testteam's agendas for next 12 months days: "Do some more compatibility tests with 1.5svn and nightly builds".

Ooooh! Yes! Thanx guys!!!
Re: Discuss : Joomla! 1.5 Beta Release Date Announced
From what the rumors were telling already yesterday at the German JoomlaDay, there is not much pressuer on the dev's till october 12th. In my opinion they could release it this week but want to wait for that prominent date.
I talked to Johan for a couple of minutes and he seemed very relaxed
Congrats to the dev team for bringing baby Joomla! to a masters degree in only 1 year

"We've decided to release on the 12th of October — exactly one year since we wrote our first line of Joomla! code," Johan said.
This is the best news since the 12th of October last year.
Congrats to the whole team.

So why aren't you linking to them, so people can find how they relate to this topic?
The related topic thread is found here: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,99860.0.html, and it discusses what 1.5 hasn't delivered in the time since it was first concieved as 1.1.

Re: Discuss : Joomla! 1.5 Beta Release Date Announced
Thanks guys. Sure it will give splendor value to my daily Joomla
Re: Discuss : Joomla! 1.5 Beta Release Date Announced
Well the announced release date is a good news.
However, I hope the current Joomla 1.5 is already in an advanced state.
I mean I don't want "a fake beta", that is in fact a true alpha (very unstable)
Anyway, I'll download a "nightly build" and take a look....
By the way, are the statistics shown at http://www.ohloh.net/opensource/software/joomla
accurate ? If not what we can keep from them ?
I's a bit weird, but according to the graphics , rhuk would have done a code contribution of more
than 80%. I guess it is wrong ...
