The 1st Joomla! Italian Meeting ended

Post by alikon » Mon Oct 02, 2006 8:16 am

The first Joomla! Italian Meeting ended yesterday.

Unbeliveable, a lot of visitor, a lot of very interested visitor , a lot of question about Joomla!.

Some image from the meeting are avaible here http://www.joomladay.it/index.php.

What i've learned from this fantastic experience:
  • the open souce community is fantastic
  • there is a growing interest about Joomla! (at least in Italy)
  • there is a big  need of Accesibilty standards compliance
  • there is a big  need of translated manual

Surely we will do it again

The German Joomla!day also was a big succes (even though the drive was pretty long). You get lots of energy from meetings like this. A few of the things I learned there:

  • Lots of people want a more refined ACL (giving groups access to sections/categories/content)
  • Accessibility was the second things high on the agenda.
  • User & Developer documentation

Seems that all the national commuity strongly needs the same things.

I've forget to write about a more refined ACL , yes is requested too.

I'm happy to know that we are moving in this direction

Thanks for the info. As we are organizing Joomla!Day in Helsinki six weeks from now, we expect to have the same questions and so we'll be prepared to answer them.

Thanks, so here we go. What were the most popular sessions, maybe case studies, workshops or something else?

As you can see from the post subject this was the 1st time, so we are learning too from this experience:

In my opinion all the 4 session of speech reached the full room , but obviously some subject's have interested more than other.

"The art of templating" have provoked big interests, people are very intersetd on layout how, their site can be different from other's

"joomla in a commercial environmet" too
more people trhat have a little enterprise,  want learn what can be done with joomla
