Hi,

Here are some non-profit sites that I have done with Mambo/Joomla:

http://www.empangenispca.co.za

The somthing messy happening. It seems that the menu bar uses two lines for text but the page is only allowing space for one, hence "You are here. Home" is half hidden. The attached picture shows how it looks in (from left to right): Safari, IE, Opera, FireFox.

Only one comment: the FFD700 color menu hover clashes with the FFE4C4 background color. I'd make it the same but you could choose to make it quite different; just not too similar.

Thank you for alerting me about this!
Please check it now. I have placed a table row between the two rows - should be OK now.

Good news - that's fixed it.

Bad news - *NEW* forum seems to be cause of the problem - needing a deeper menu box. I thought I'd see what would happen to the menu bar if I changed the font size in my browser - it doesn't change the menu bar height, which is fine if I want smaller than standard text. Normal and large text just overflows the box (see attached image). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.  :-[

I see what you mean...

So what do you suggest I do? Make the boxes bigger?

I'm new to Mambo & Joomla! so you'll need someone that knows more than I do to help. I am wondering whether the menu bar is a graphic or done with css. What you need is a menu bar than will change its height (but not its width) based upon the space (ie. number of lines) the text requires.

It's a module with its own CSS - very tricky one as well :P

I kinda solved it now and it should look alright now.... hopefully...

Thanks everyone!

I am using Ako Book. You can find the component anywhere. Try looking on the Forge.
