Discussion about: Logo Competition - Community Vote begins
Re: Discussion about: Logo Competition - Community Vote begins
May the best win. two of my favourites are here.
Just wondering, why only Joomla01 is shown on the existing website header and not the others?
It would have been nice to compare how they all would look on the header.

Re: Discussion about: Logo Competition - Community Vote begins
I love logos. .I loved seeing all the entries (the ones I could). And this is an exciting contest! I can't wait to see which one wins.
"Among Us" is a fungus...a budding fungus...a fungus among us...I admire the creator who surely has a big grin.
And 1A...well, Bazoomla! is what I see. Tilt your head a little bit...I am not surprised, because probably most of the core developers are guys. This logo is fun!
I thought the Fish was a block of stylized cheese at first.
I thought 01 was a nuclear statement. Not bad, because you can infer a nuclear family. But entwined bodies might need a rating. Perhaps a J rating!
And the JBird looks like an airline logo. But a very good one!
Kudos to these clever logo artists! I have had more fun. Does there have to be a deeper meaning? Vote for what looks good to you!

Just voted 1A, but it was hard to choose between 1a and Among US
....nothing here.
Re: Discussion about: Logo Competition - Community Vote begins
I think the logos should have been restricted to only being used for Joomla for now.
I see the Bird logo is already being used by comeonjoomla.net http://www.joomla.org/content/view/159/43/ and I think this undermines the process a little. Plus we want the Joomla logo to be unique, not something that is already being used on another site.

While I can somewhat agree, I don't believe the person who used this logo in such a fashion ( http://www.joomla.org/content/view/159/43/ ) has all his marbles. The original graphics should
have been left alone until the community chooses a logo.
That's my opinion on the matter. There were too many people trying to use others graphics to
create their own. You can either do graphics, or you cannot.
I still vote for the Bird, the above site can change their logo and give due respect to the original author.
Re: Discussion about: Logo Competition - Community Vote begins
First off - congratulations to all the finalists!
Pleased that a few of my favourites made the final cut.
3 of the 5 were first in my mind - then it was two..
Finally one just stood out a bit beyond the rest.
May the best logo win
I liked the name Joomla! when it was announced and now seeing the logo emerge..
All I feel is..
Happy days ahead Joomla!
Have a great weekend good thinking people

A tough "Final 5" - very high quality.
The way I voted was this:
Before I opened the post I had a bit of a think about what I might expect. Then I clicked, and carefully studied the designs - looking at each variation, of each design, and trying hard to memorise as much as I could (form and composition, colour usage, typography, etc).
I walked away and let my impressions brew for a while... the strength of the logos struck me, like so:
I'd like to point out again - these are high quality submissions, and I have a lot of respect for each of these 5 works: no offence is intended by my list.
While Joomla 01 has the best community element (its pretty obvious, I think), I didn't find it as memorable as I feel I should have - having read the posts here (truth be told, I could only remember it had red, yellow, green and blue in it).
For me, Joomla Fish had the most impact - I remembered it clearly and I feel it is both professional and friendly (plus, you can read into it in variety of positive ways - even without having read the designer's explanation). I also like the idea of a mascot... and I'd be interested in animating something promotional if the fish is selected (or helping out - if this was already under control).
Well done to everyone involved (including us reviewing-folk). I can't wait to see the results!
Cheers, Adam. (dStorm)
(I wish I'd learned of the competition sooner. I would have like to have tried my hand at a logo, or two.)

4 of my top 5 were choosen as finalists... I still don't think the logo Joomla Among Us should be on top 5, IMHO. I've already voted (the fish rules!!!) and I wish good luck to the finalists. But, I think I know who's going to win. .

I'd be very supprised if Jbird doesn't win. That's not to take away anything from the other submissions as they were all extremely high quality.

I had a hard time deciding between the last two logos, finally I voted for the last one. Has the voting deadline been extended? I thought it was ending today?
