Single sign-on for all of joomla.org?

Post by Dreadnought » Sat Dec 02, 2006 5:24 pm

Hi there,

I would enjoy the possibility of signing on only once, e.g. to the forum, and then be able to, e.g., write reveiws in the "Extensions" section of joomla.org, as well. Evidently, at the moment, I have to register twice (for the Forum and the Extensions) section - which IMHO is quite laborious...

Just a proposal for better usability.

Regards,

D.

We agree that this would definitely be a good option to have. I don't think it's going to happen fast though. There are a number of reasons for this. We do use 3rd party extensions on joomla.org sites, but we like to keep those to a minimum. This way, it's much easier to test new Joomla versions on our own sites as fast as possible. Joomla is growing quite fast. At the moment, the forum and extensions are on the same server. For performance reasons, this could well change in future.
