You are not allowed to send personal messages?

I got this error message when i tried to reply to a personal message. what's the deal?

Due to PM spammers, people with less than 5 posts can't send PM's any more...  :(

thanks for the info.  i got the same message, too, and this post here will just my 4th post...so now i have to find somewhere to make a 5th post b/c i'm in need of sending someone a PM.
