phpBB Question
Forgive me for asking a probably dumb question... but I like the look of the phpBB forums. I'm trying to figure out which components, modules, etc. from the Joomla >> Extensions website I should be downloading this. I'd like to put a Discussion Board on our church's website some time, and I like the look of phpBB (or phpBB2).
Re: phpBB Question
Have you seen SMF or Joomlaboard. Joomlaboard is integrated with Joomla and smf s more powerful imho. both are usually more secure...
for phpbb
Mendhis Phpbb bridge
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/
is a popular one, but there are quite a few in this section

Re: phpBB Question
Yep..SMF brother. I did them both, and you really need to look at SMF. Quick uptime, and you'll find superior functionality across the board.

Re: phpBB Question
Thanks for your reply, DesignGuy. A few other questions I have...
- There appears to be two SMF links on this page: http://extensions.joomla.org/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=listcats&cat_id=1778&Itemid=35. One is for "Joomla-SMF Forum Component (Simple Machines Forum)". The other is for "Joomla-SMF Bridge (Simple Machines Forum)". Do I need either or both of these? What is the difference between the two?
- Do I need to have Community Builder installed on my site prior to installing SMF?
