How to connect to SCM?
http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,6476.0.html
the above is also a sticky in this forum...
key points,
if for example, project name is ABC, you don't use it to connect.
You need to create a project repository first, using web interface for your project.
Press Source Code button on project home page. Make repository (create)
To find the address for a repository that you want to connect to, press source code on project home, which will list repositories in your project.
Far right is Repository Path column which has one or more /svnroot/[Repository Name] entries, depending on number of repositories.
use [Repository Name]/ on the end of http://scm.joomla.org/svn/repos/
any sub directories are accessed using http://scm.joomla.org/svn/repos/[Repository Name]/[dir name]/
then, when doing an initial 'import' (option in tortoise), right click in your targe t directory on your comp, then use
http://scm.joomla.org/svn/repos/[Repository Name]/ as the url, add a little comment...
You will then be asked username/password.
Should then be in.
Don't think I missed anything.
If I have, it will be in the link above.

Hi,
1- First you have to create an account on Joomla! forge (lower case is better)
2- Download Tortoise SVN client and proceeed with a default installation, restart your box
3- Create a folder, for instance C:\Joomla!SVN\Joomla1.0
4- Right click / SVN Checkout on the newly created folder
5- Copy the branch URL http://scm.joomla.org/svn/repos/joomla/branches/1.0 in URL Repository field
6- In the authentication windows, sign in with login/password previously created on Joomla! forge
7- That's it !
Update the branch URL to get the latest 1.1
