Hi, welcome to the forum. We're using Mosets tree for the Extensions Directory (also can be seen in the footer of the site).

Hello Tonie,

Is this Mosets tree also being used for the advanced search feature on the Extensions search page?  I would like to ability for users to be able to search with similar abilities (extension, license type, etc) on my site.  So far I've been unable to find one.

Thanks

Yes, this is also developed by the developer of Mosets. I don't know if the search function like this is available in Mosets itself, or he custom made it for the extensions directory.

The advanced search function is available in mosets mtree in general.
A search module is included with the option to let frontend users use the advanced search page.

Mosets is a commercial component, which was donated with support and new features specifically built for the extensions directory. Designing the extensions directory is a continuous process, and new features will keep on being added.

The Extensions Directory is a custom modified version of Mosets tree.

Some functions exists as standard, and some functions  must be created for example, from the "custom fields". In the Mosets Tree code, you create buttons that connects to those fields. It isn't so difficult if you understand a little PHP.

Mosets has an own forum dedicated to their products. I recommend you look through the posts there and ask the other users. Maybe you'll get some hints where to change. You can also find a forum dedicated for 3rd party addons and Custom Jobs. Hope it helps!

Mosets Tree Advanced Search (Name Required)

Post by dynamicw » Mon Jan 07, 2008 1:37 am

:'(Does anyone else find it odd that Mosets Tree would require any and all searches to contain a name to return any search results.  I was hoping to have a nornal search directory where people could search by category of services offered.  Mosets tree requires that all searches have at least a Name field specified before it will return any results.  What if you don't know any names?

Seems like you should be able to search by category field and then name field.

Just a thought, let me know what everyone else thinks.

Thanks,
