Discussion - Packt Awards 2007 — Vote for Joomla!

Post by RobInk » Mon Jul 16, 2007 9:11 am

Discussion thread for http://www.joomla.org/content/view/3645/1/

Packt is pleased to announce the launch date of the 2007 Open Source Content Management System Award as Monday July 16. Following on from the success of last year, Packt has expanded the Award for 2007 with an increase in prize money and the addition of new categories.

As many of you know, Joomla! won the award last year and there is no doubt that community support through voting was a significant factor in our success.  Fingers crossed, you guys can help us win again!

A small hint for everyone, the actual voting pages seem to be a bit hard to find. Look for the Award tab on the top right, then the Nominations option below on the submenu. You will see 5 options and you can at least vote on:

Overall Open Source CMS Award Winner
and Best PHP Open Source Content Management System

For everyone who is as blind as I am, here is the nominations page: http://www.packtpub.com/nominations-homepage
Took me some time to find it (although it's right in the top navigation bar, I just didn't look for it there)  :-[

I also got confused about the nomination process since there are now five categories (last year, there was only one.) So, I sent a note asking about the "one person - one vote" rule that Peter is referencing. Someone named "Damian" responded and indicated that each person can nominate one CMS for each category. (He is also going to update the rules so it is more clear.)

I assume these two are the ones we Joomla! lovers want to use when we vote:

Overall Open Source CMS Award Winner
and Best PHP Open Source Content Management System

@Robin - can you confirm that?

Thanks!
Amy :)

@Robink might be worth putting the links from Amy's post in lead post?
