As you can see in our extensions website, http://extensions.joomla.org there're 2000 extensions active today, and I'm sure there will be tons more in the future

Don't be so euphoric pals. 2000 extensions? Many r useless. Count the useful ones. 100 probably. I as a end user is frustrated to tryout a lot of the extensions, only to find later that it has a giant hole in it.

I am slowly transforming/evolving/mutating into a die-hard Joomla fan. So every milestones by Joomla will be critically scanned by the likes of us.

I hope to make some real contribution of the project in the future. No doubt, I am happier than ever to find that Joomla has 2000+ extensions. Bravo!!

Does not matter how many are "useful" , the ratio should be the same on other CMS too , so this milestone is a pretty impressive one !

Yep, I agree on that one. Good point.

As to how "useful" a specific extension is.. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, isn't that the saying? It all depends what YOU find useful, but I can imagine that it is getting to be a drag to test out a gazillion extensions... only to find out they do not match exactly to ones' specific needs.
