No need to google it, as there are no results (Well 3, but they are not connected)
I saw the name, and now it's the suspense of knowing what it means that's killing me!!!

ArtFusion, I don't know what you're problem is, but complaining won't help. Get over it already, please!

I didn't like the name Mambo when I first found it... but I grew to love the CMS anyway... and even the name grew on me.
I'm not too worried - this CMS will do just fine.

Joomla.
http://www.joomla.org/What is Joomla?
Image
Joomla! is a Content Management System (CMS) created by the same award-winning team that brought the Mambo CMS to its current state of stardom.
What's in a name?
The name Joomla! is a phonetic spelling for the Swahili word "Jumla", which means "all together" or "as a whole". It was chosen as the entire teams behind Mambo were unanimous in their commitment to protecting the interests of the creators and community, which was the true cause for the success and acclaim earned by that project.
This name was chosen from thousands of recommendations by the community, and even went through an arduous review session by branding and marketing professionals who also felt that Joomla! was the best choice of the lot.
What sets Joomla! apart from the rest is our dedication to keeping things as simple as possible, while providing the most features possible. Finally, non-technical people can have complete control over their websites without paying exhorbitant amounts for closed, proprietary software.
Joomla! is more than just software, it is people. The community behind Joomla! includes developers, designers, systems administrators, translators, content writers, and most importantly the end users. We welcome you to our community, and look forward to the future with great excitement!
Got a little news story too.

Great name, a lot of fuss about nothing on artfusion's part.
In Holland we'd serve rusks with "mice" blue for boys, pink for girls
Congratulations!

No entries in dictionary.com. Google shows it to be the name of a Persian prince possibly.

Hi all,
Well for those who are wondering, we peeked at around 1000 connections at around 6Mb/s. The server is a Dual Opteron so its not a lightweight.
Anyway, apologies for the problems... they just go to show the interest in what we have goin' on here.
For those asking we got Joomla from Jumla, the swahilli word for All Together.
Cheers
Shayne

So many visitors to see the new baby that you nearly cooked the servers!
Sorry for the downtime but this sort of traffic really is a vote of interest.

I like the meaning of the word, "as a whole" - but I would actually prefer just OSM or something like that. Might be because Joomla just sounds weird in my native language, Norwegian. Would prefer "Jumla", but allright, enough criticism. Just one thing: Is it supposed to be written with an exclamation mark at the end? Seems a bit complicated.
Well, congrats. One step further towards release 1

Yes, I know, the Settings.php file somehow got corrupted, I was able to extract a copy of the file from a backup performed last night and restored it to the same location. Probably caused by a forum admin doing a setting change and it never completed the file writing process.
