There was never a doubt in my mind - and I hope the Mambo big-wigs are seeing this and realize what they chased away.
It's this team, and this community that makes this project what it is - not a corporate entity - and it's a HUGE pat on the back for Andrew, Brian, and the rest of the dev team! Beers all around - and it's the GOOD stuff.... Canadian!
Great job, guys. You deserve this, in more ways than most realize. Not even two months old and Joomla continues its winning ways - nope, never a doubt in my mind. Let's see the jokers at Mambo pull this off! LOL
Congrats.

Couldn't say it better myself... everyone look to your left and shake hands with the peron next to you. Everyone is to be congratulated.
Cheers

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Andrew and Alex at the awards dinner on Wednesday evening. It was a great evening and fantastic to see Joomla win the award in their category. Congratulations must also go to Brian.
Unfortunately, Rochen didn’t quite win the award in our category, but we are still extremely pleased that we made it through to the final three. The Joomla win certainly makes up for it though.
Well done again to all involved!

P.S. I think Alan Cox brought a whole new meaning to the words “black tie event”

Congrats to all!! I would have loved to join you in London but spent my day on Schiphol Amsterdam airport
. It's so good that after all the amazing hard work of the past months the dev team gets recognition outside of our community too. Cheers to the many good things to come!

I find a very strange news from the forum of mambochina.com .
There is a letter about this award from Mambo Foundation.

can't verify Mr. Lamont's statement, but this thread has a somewhat similar statement by another member of the Foundation:

May I take this opportunity to congratulate the hard working team , and say it is just reward for a fantastic effort in what we all know, not an easy time.
It just goes to show that this project is destined for further rewards and recognition.
Also, thanks to the community.
Well done all.

Thanks to everyone who voted for Joomla!
In fact, thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for any of the projects which ended up in the finals.
We had a great time at the show and met some community members and other development teams.
It never ceases to amaze me the innovative and creative ways people are using Joomla! It must surely be the "content platform of choice" for creative individuals using the web.

The way I see it , Joomla! can be used to do almost everything a web developer would want, and if it doesn't , you can always teach Joomla! new tricks "hint:Hack a component
" ,way to go guys.

Super news. Hopefully new Joomla! releases will win again next year. Wouldn't suprise me, especially if the releases have made progress in the area of useability. Congratulations.
