Hi,

Sorry if I spoil the positive atmosphere of this thread (congrats to the new Core Team members BTW) but...
Being such a huge project, how is it possible that Joomla! Core Team will still not intregrate some kind of International Coordinator !?

There are many foreign Joomla! portals around here (joomla.de, joomla.fr, proyectohispano.org, aljoomla.org and so on).
I will talk on behalf of joomla.fr since I'm part of it. We spend hours providing support and services though our forum, tutorials, CMTs filebase... and spreading the word. While we act as "bridgeheads" between joomla.org and our respective communities, we receive the same level of information as any english speaking users by browsing Joomla.org sites daily... Luckily, many of us speak english  :-\
I wish there were communication channels (mailing list, private forum...) between an International Coordinator and foreign Joomla! portals admins.

Because communication, community and opensource matter  ;)

My 2 cents of ¤

Alas, as you may guess, Hornos, I have been unsuccessful in convincing the Core Team of what I also consider as an elementary necessity.
It has been implemented concerning translation partnership but not at the admin portal levels.

A coordination does not imply though an "Officialisation" of the said Community portals which Joomla! project can't handle for many reasons.

It would certainly make it easier and faster to communicate any information Joomla! project would like to be spread worldwide and also get feedback on the specific matters gathered by Communities representatives in their respective communities where most users do not speak English.

But this may not be the right thread to start again this debate although this one is for sure monitored.  ;)
