Sorry if I spoil the positive atmosphere of this thread (congrats to the new Core Team members BTW) but...
Being such a huge project, how is it possible that Joomla! Core Team will still not intregrate some kind of International Coordinator !?
There are many foreign Joomla! portals around here (joomla.de, joomla.fr, proyectohispano.org, aljoomla.org and so on).
I will talk on behalf of joomla.fr since I'm part of it. We spend hours providing support and services though our forum, tutorials, CMTs filebase... and spreading the word. While we act as "bridgeheads" between joomla.org and our respective communities, we receive the same level of information as any english speaking users by browsing Joomla.org sites daily... Luckily, many of us speak english
I wish there were communication channels (mailing list, private forum...) between an International Coordinator and foreign Joomla! portals admins.
Because communication, community and opensource matter
