You didn't offend me at all. Sorry if my post made you think that. That wasn't my intention.

It is just that I suffered from the above described scenario so often that I could not understand how someone could actually ask for LESS bugfixes. I strongly believe that lots of 'small' patches is much better than just a few big updates every once in a while.

I would like to say thank you to the devs for all these fix's...  You all are right its nice to know our clients are getting the most up to date solution.  I am only finding one bug from the patch...  It has made my mosthumb bot not work anymore. All of the thumbnails no longer show up.. working on a new solution now.

I recently upgraded from Joomla 1.0.1 to 1.0.2 and suddenly none of the drop down menus in the administration backend work. I'm not sure what may be causing this problem. Any ideas?

Problem following upgrade from 1.01 to 1.02

Most impressed with the upgrade/install[er] package, worked a treat, to a point

Not sure if this is where you're looking for bug reports, if not please move elsewhere;

I've a new error:

>user selects 'mark as read' from either main forum page or from a individual board page

>error message received:
"Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again."

- messages remain flagged as new, as before
- logging out and back in again does not resolve the problem.

Thank you to the core team for your hard work.  It is always amazing to me that I get better service for free from you than I do from companies that I pay good money to!  That being said, I hope to one day contribute back to the community as I learn more.

Just an FYI - the link to the changelog on the mainpage - http://www.joomla.org/content/view/273/66/ - pulls up only an empty template for me - no changelog there to be read.  Is there another place I can access the changelog?  (tried to find it on the forge but didn't see it).

Thanks,

Rhune

???

Don't get me wrong, but comments like that really trouble me... No one is forcing you to update, or is there? It is stated quite clearly that even v1.0.0 does NOT contain any critical or security related bugs so if you don't have any problems with your site/s you really don't have to update. In fact maybe you shouldn't. Never stop a running system...?

I mean, are you really complaining about the dev team working very hard to get as many bugfixes out to us as soon as possible?? There are countless people making new Joomla installations every day for new projects and some/most of them won't get updated again very soon or at all for numerous reasons. I think it is very nice to know that almost every yet discovered bug has been already fixed and my client gets the most up to date version.

Do you really prefer the other way? To discover a bug (or worse, get informed by a client of its existence) that really hinders your work flow in some way, then you go desperately search the forums for a solution and you only get the response "yeah, it is a known bug, nothing you can do about it now but will be fixed in the next release."?? Trust me this happened to me quite often and it sucks! Especially when the next release is not coming for weeks and weeks...

So, to allmagica: if you're to lazy to update every week - just don't. No problem there. Just wait until an update contains something you really need or want and do it then.

To the dev team: Please continue to bring us as many patches and updates as fast as possible!! And big thx for all the time and hard work.

-

"And now to something completely different:" ;)

Wasn't it a bit risky to 'patch' the templates? I can imagine that lots of users only modified the default template to their liking and now that their css-file, the index.php and maybe even the header image have been overwritten, they discover they don't have a backup... Of course for the full package this is not a problem, but for the patches?

Anyway,  great work dev team!

Nic

I think this person means can't updates be tested more thoroughly before they go live. I think there's something to say for that. Isn't it possible to assemble a pretesting team to spot any bugs? Don't get this wrong, it's great to see lots of quick fixes but it would be even greater if that process took place behind closed doors. That stabilizes joomla as a product.

Can we check this when we get a chance?
This is cosmetic but causes layout problems under the right circumstances.
In the following file:

http:///includes/js/tabs/tabpane.css

there are several font references that only have Tahoma in them. I'm on linux with FireFox... no Tahoma

Can it be changed to Tahoma, Helvetica, sans-serif ?

thanks.. I'll edit the file locally to see if that works as expected but I think it should.
These are in css controlling dynamic-tab-pane-control

**edit**
I changed the font references to sans-serif and it appears to be fine now

Hi,

At guider; I have recently joined the team, specifically the Stability Team with the responsability to setup this QA Testing Workgroup. This test group will test new releases before they are actually released. This of course with the goal of bringing more stability to Joomla! I can't really tell right now when this will be fully operational, still busy setting it up. And if you are talking of changes... I am also Change Manager in my daily job, so this will add to the Stability as well hopefully  ;)

I have a question regarding:
# Fixed artf1192 : Unpublished Bots

That now also unpublished Mambots are executed means that all unpublished Mambots slows the site down and I have to deinstall them... is that really what it should be like it? Even from a user aspect I would expect something different... I would think that an unpublished Mambot cannot cause problems.
I know there is also the $published parameter but this shouldn't be the reason. (You know that there are even "Core" Mambots which a user could not just uninstall and reinstall when needed... so unpublishing would be the way to go even there)
(I don't even see compatibility issues since it have been like this before)

Is there any future plan regarding this issue?

Edit: created separate thread: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,12435.0.html
