My 2 cents for logo, without the lettering.

The EPS file is available to DL at , if you want to mix these cents with your ideas.

Ain't got time to describe them right now, as I have to go home, but I tried to mix up all the comments and concepts posted here.

A simple but fun sounding name. So a simple and fun color and shapes, with a little international flavor. This is rough; I'd clean up the world icon lines, etc. But you get the idea.

I would go for a double "J" forming an "O" something like:

"J" and "O" as the first letters of "Joomla"
But it also looks as "O" and "S" as "Open Source"

...

I like DeGrey's logo. If it's okay to build upon an idea, here's my reinterpretation of it.
